The Flatiron Building, originally the Fuller Building, is a 285-foot steel-frame triangular skyscraper at 175 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Designed by D. H. Burnham & Co. and opened in 1902, it sits on the island block formed by Fifth Avenue, Broadway, East 22nd Street, and East 23rd Street. It became a New York City Landmark in 1966, joined the National Register in 1979, and became a National Historic Landmark in 1989.
